High school counselors provide a master file of the required sixth semester data (class size and unweighted class rank and GPA) to ISAC via the SSP/OCCA system within the GAP Access portal. This data is also used for Direct Admissions – or, One Click College Admit (OCCA) – processing.
The master student data file is submitted via the Batch Upload option, and – once made available each year and up until the State Scholar selection process begins – corrections to data already in the system can be made via the SSP Updates option.
Test scores are gathered from testing companies for the ACT and SAT exams taken during the student's third and fourth semester prior to graduation.
September – November
State Scholars are named.
Access to congratulatory letters and Certificates of Achievement for students designated as State Scholars is provided to high schools via the SSP/OCCA system.
January
The deadline to appeal a student's State Scholar status is usually at the end of January.
